'But did you get an invite?': Entitled bride enlists her college friends to help her plan a wedding that none of them are invited to, gaslighting them into feeling included

Weddings are so deeply personal that a lot of brides get a free pass whenever it comes to lapses in judgment under the duress of wedding planning. However, there are a few egregious oversights that should never be forgiven, like getting tricked into helping your 'friend' plan their wedding only to be excluded from the actual event…

Some friendships are truly forever. When we were kids and got a matching necklace with our bestie (you know, the kind that says 'BEST' on one half and 'FRIENDS' on the other), you can expect that friendship to last a while. Once you're in your twenties, your friendships harden like diamonds under the pressure of life, forging a strong bond that most would consider unbreakable. However, the bride in this next story seemed to think that her college experience was now below her, essentially uninviting her college friends from the rest of her new life after excluding them from her wedding.

    Most weddings become a melting pot of a person's entire relationship repertoire. College friends mingle with childhood besties, while grandma takes a shot at the bar with your nail tech. As one of the most overlooked facets of someone's wedding day, to me, the mixing of your life's friendships, family members, and acquaintances is really beautiful—so when this group was cut out from their friend's wedding, they felt completely cut from her future life… And rightly so.

  • PinkPencils22 How small a wedding was it? If it was, say, 30 people and they each had reasonable numbers of family members, I would understand. Maybe even 50 people--having planned a wedding myself, when you split the invites with your partner, they fill up remarkably fast. But your former friend is seriously tacky by not telling you and by taking advantage of your friend's fashion knowledge.
